Thanks to Pat and Angie, we started another day with a great breakfast--french toast! Then Margy pulled out her box of wild and crazy contest games like pick-up-the-tube-noodle-with-spaghetti, pull-all-the-kleenex-out-of-the-box, shake-the-box-of-ping-pong-balls-tied-to-your-fanny-until-they-all-come-out, and get-the-pennies-out-of-the-toes-of-the-nylons. We laughed until our sides hurt. Having no desire to try any of the antics myself, I was amazed that there were so many enthusiastic volunteers!
Too soon, it was time to pack up everything. We then drove to the Alpine Loop Scenic Backway. As we entered the loop, we found just what we were looking for--a picnic area! Our tummies were rumbling. An old amphitheater proved to be the perfect picnic spot for our large group. The kids loved playing on the stairs and stage as we tried to eat. Luckily, we managed to keep them out of too much trouble. After lunch, we continued on the loop to Cascade Springs where we disembarked in order to explore the half mile of paved pathways and boardwalks that weave through the cascading water and pools. What an incredibly beautiful place!
